Since 1993, Shir Delite band has performed throughout the Washington, DC Metro area for countless Bar/Bat Mitzvahs and weddings. In addition, they perform locally and around the country at folk festivals, synagogues, Jewish Community Centers, the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage and the Smithsonian.

Shir Delite band brings together seven talented, experienced musicians from the Washington DC area. The band plays a wide range of repertoire, which includes Israeli, Yiddish, Klezmer, Swing, Russian, Latin, Pop, Big Band, Broadway, Motown and some Rock and Roll.

Their experience, expertise and innate knowledge of what keeps a celebration moving, has made Shir Delite a local favorite for years. They will work closely with you, helping you plan the type of party you want. Shir Delite will play the mix of music that you request and their lead vocalist will incorporate any dance music that you desire including, but not limited to, Israeli dancing and line dances. Shir Delite will have all of the kids on the dance floor during your Bar/Bat Mitzvah party.

Members of Shir Delite include Vladimir Gamarnik, world-class violin virtuoso, Andy Zatman, a musician's musician who has led jazz bands and has composed classical compositions, Allen Minton, exceptional guitarist, bass player and composer, Seymour Greene, who played trombone in This Is The Army with Irving Berlin, Alan Lichtman, lead percussionist and soloist with the Maryland Symphony and Sally Heckelman, lead vocalist, children's recording artist and music educator.
